BMCS Nursery
Our nurseries offer the home gardener, landscaper or large contractor a big variety of quality local plants at economical prices in quantities up to 30 000. We have two sites; one at Blackheath, where most of the propagation work is done and another at Lawson which is mostly used for plant storage and growing on in the milder climate.
Contact our Nursery Manager, Kevin Bell (Ph/FAX 4787 6436), if you would like to buy plants, become a nursery volunteer, or just visit for a look. We welcome all enquiries and our enthusiastic volunteers are always ready to help you make your choice.

Blackheath Nursery
This was established in 1990 under the direction of Robin Corringham who was followed over an eleven year period by David Coleby. The current manager is Kevin Bell who took over in 2005. The nursery has just recently been refurbished and now consists of a glass-house with controlled irrigation and heated beds, a fully enclosed work-shed for plant preparation, housing a seed-bank and record-keeping computer and a shade-house with a capacity of over 5 000 plants.
The nursery is located within the workshop compound of the National Parks and Wildlife Service on Govetts Leap Road in Blackheath. Turn left at the roundabout(about 3km from the Great Western Highway) at the end of Govetts Leap Road into Lyndsay Lane and follow the road around into the compound.
The nursery is open for sales on Tuesdays from 8.30am to noon.

Our Plants and Policies
Our plants are raised either from seed or cuttings collected within the Greater Blue Mountains area.
During a calendar year we generally have 120-140 species available with around 70-80 species at any one time depending on demand.
For over 16 years we have supplied quality local plants to Blue Mountains residents and others from neighbouring areas.
We undertake work for large landowners and landscapers, either collecting seed of local provenance or propagating from customer-supplied seed.
In the past we have fulfilled large contracts for the RTA at Soldiers Pinch, Mt. Victoria and Shell Corner, Katoomba.
Currently we are preparing over 50 000 plants for the same organization following highway upgrades at Lawson, Bullaburra and Wentworth Falls.
We regularly provide plants for the NPWS and Blue Mountains City Council for re-vegetation works and are always in demand by local landscapers for reliable, cheap plants. We believe we have made a very significant contribution to the beautification of the Blue Mountains.
So, whether your needs are large or small, we can supply you with quality plants in big variety, cheaply and guaranteed to grow, having been raised in the conditions in which they will live.
Donations of local identified seeds are most welcome as we expand our seed-bank.
Just note the location, time of the year and send to P.O. Box 29, Wentworth Falls 2782, bring to one of our nurseries or to one of our monthly meetings. It will be much appreciated.
For enquiries, please contact the Nursery Manager, Kevin Bell (Ph/FAX 4787 6436)

Species List
From the list below we try to maintain stocks of each plant for at least part of the year but demand and the occasional propagation failure means that not all species are available at all times. We can generally guarantee to have 70 - 80 species in stock. Suggestions for suitable plants for propagation not on the list are always welcome.
Plants marked with an asterisk(*) do not normally occur within the Greater Blue Mountains area but grow well in private gardens. They are not recommended for roadsides or planting near the National Parks.
